Profilo ricercato:
The Visiting Researcher Fellowship will carry out a research on the reconstruction in Bologna of the ‘Pavilion de l’Esprit Nouveau’ designed by Le Corbusier, carried out in 1977 by the Bolognese architect Giuliano Gresleri together with the Fondation Le Corbusier, and its restoration promoted in 2017, for the forty anniversary of the inauguration of the pavilion, with funds from the City of Bologna and the Emilia-Romagna region. The research project will assess the effects of re-building this building and its ‘pavilion as built representation phenomenon’ through careful documentation of Le Corbusier’s 1925 building, Bologna’s 1977 building, and the 2017 restoration of the building in a 20-minute film: a thorough and unusually stringent recording of the building as it stands in Bologna today. The results will contribute to enhance both the international relations and research of the DA and the knowledge of contemporary architecture in Bologna.
